Great roundup of Costa Rica weather. I think a lot of people definitely think the whole country is a tropical jungle, when, in fact, there are a wide variety of climates.

In the Central Valley at the higher altitudes it is definitely advisable to wear a jacket in the evenings.

I would add that a good rain jacket will serve you well no matter where you go in the country during the rainy season.

What a rush!!! Unbelievable scenery and tons o fun! Our guides, Stephanie and David were both very professional and knowledgable, not to mention funny. We were treated superbly, and had an amazing time! Looking forward to next time. Thanx for the adventure! Highly reccomended. We’ll be back.

Hi there:
Just a couple of observations:
In all the pages of the web site none of the videos were there. SAo I am not sure if there is an error or it’s blocked by the government for whom I work.

Also, please remember that Patricia and I have the snorkeling/scuba and possibly the river and mangrove tour business concessdion. I have been discussing with Brad Pope the possibility of buying a boat together, this remains to be seen. There is a lot of work to be done yet and the search for an adequate boat, or boats to be able to service the different style tours, river (Sierpe) and ocean going vessel (scuba/snorkel).

We feel in love with OMV as well, and also bought a villa there. It’s under construction now! For us, this was a great business decision. Our villa will be a vacation rental property. We will of course be visiting frequently and checking in with our good friends Jim, Skip, Duane & Catherine! We’ll see you guys soon!

Hi Charlie,

It would be best to rent a four wheel drive to get up the mountain. The government is improving the road quickly but it is still best to rent a 4 x 4. Several people have bought a fractional for 4 weeks a year and are putting it into the rental pool if they don’t use it. I am moving down to our villa as I write this along with my 6 year old daughter. In regards to your kids, I don’t think it is ever too late to “save” anyone. I personally believe a life based on accumulating magnificent experiences instead of accumulating stuff will speak for itself and bring about the change in life direction all on its own, even for the heavily “brainwashed”… happiness will prevail. I totally get being fed up with the direction of the US and mainstream society as I am right there with you on that. I hope to meet you soon down here.
